Jonathan Wall was born in 1987 in Washington, DC, but has since spent most of his time in North Carolina. He attended Duke University for undergraduate study (B.A. Music, Trinity College ’10), studying with Scott Lindroth, Anthony Kelley, and Stephen Jaffe, and graduated with High Distinction (for a composition, Ciscriptions, and a paper, Three Fifths: An Approach to Analyzing Charlemagne Palestine’s Early Piano Music). While at Duke, he was an active participant in [dnme], the Duke New Music Ensemble, as a composer, pianist, percussionist, and laptop performer. He is currently a graduate student in composition at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, studying with Mark Engebretson and Alejandro Rutty.
